Dear Masters, Instructors, Competitors and Families,

We are very proud and excited to announce the 2011 PTC Northwest Challenge TaeKwonDo Championship. We are looking forward to offering all TKD competitors a fun and exciting tournament that is fair, challenging and most of all intricately well managed. We encourage competitors of all ages and levels to come and put your training to the test and experience the fun and excitement of a great TaeKwonDo tournament.

This year we are excited to be adding new and challenging events including WTF poomsae, family forms & creative poomsae, board breaking and Lajust sparring for 14-17 & 18-32 world class black belts. This will be a great opportunity for you to test your skills, build new friendships and to celebrate the exciting art of Tae Kwon Do!

For all athletes that are interested in qualifying for the Junior and Senior Nationals, and for competitors that are interesting in competing in a state tournament.   Weight class will be based on the 2010 USAT standards.

There is a referee seminar on January 23, 2010 at Yi Sport Taekwondo from 12pm-5pm.   All black belts 16 and older are encouraged to come.  The cost  for the referee seminar is $60, and registration will be accepted at the door.

• 12 year old and older blue belt and above — 12pm-4pm

Mandatory Equipment: Head gear, Hogu, mouthpiece, arm guards, shin guards, elbow pads, knee pads, foot guards, groin protector (males), towel, water, jump rope, medicine ball equal to 10% of body weight.

Who may Participate:  All WATKD USAT registered athletes and coaches.

This is a double-elimination sparring (only) tournament.  Last year’s event was huge, with participants from five states, three countries, and many local teams schools.
